These beautiful and rare Blue Polar Platinum Parrot Cichlid fish are a pale grey with the marble striping with an exotic and unique iridescence. Featuring the round balloon-like body shape from their parents, these fish grow very slow and have a life expectancy of over ten years. All of our fry, juveniles, and adults are aquarium-raised and home-bred. Our Blue Polar Platinum Parrot Cichlids are double hybrids crossed between a Blue Polar Parrot Cichlid and a Dwarf Platinum Balloon/Jellybean Cichlid.


Size: They can grow up to 8” as adults in aquariums.



Behavior: Usually not aggressive toward their own species; semi-aggressive toward others but they can be very territorial in some instances. They are carnivores. Cichlids require lots of hiding places. Make sure you have ample rocks, caves, and plants to deter aggressive behavior.



Temperature: 75F-80F, 78F ideal.



Compatibility: They do best in a species-only tank but are compatible with similar cichlids that aren’t too aggressive.



Filtration: Use a bio-wheel filter or canister filter in your aquarium.



Food: Blue Polar Platinum Parrot Cichlids will eat cichlid wafers and pellets, cichlid flakes, live or frozen brine shrimp, and blood worms. Increase pellet size as the fish grow, moving to regular sized pellets as they near 2” in length.



Growth: These fish grow rapidly early on, then slow as they age. They will stay around 2” in length for an extended time.



Water Quality: Blue Polar Platinum Parrot Cichlids are very hardy fish and can tolerate a range of water qualities. To err on the side of safety, ensure the pH level is on the positive, alkaline side of neutral and that ammonia levels and nitrates remain low. Keep algae level low, but avoid powerful tank medicines, as they can make your fish catatonic. Change your water as needed, remembering to use Stress Coat after changing and when introducing new fish to your tank.

IF ANY OF THE FISH ARRIVE DOA

If any of your fish arrive DOA, look weak, damaged, or otherwise ill, immediately send us an email to document the problem. Due to our history of online scammers trying to get free fish, we will need CLEAR AND CLOSE UP pictures of the dead fish in its original packaging and also a few CLEAR AND CLOSE UP pictures of the fish out of the bag in a container/paper towel sent to us via message or email within 2 Hours of receipt. You will receive a full refund of only the fish minus the shipping costs OR a replacement fish.

TAKE TWO PICTURES OF THE FISH before opening the bags and send them to us via email. If you fail to email us pictures of the unopened bags within two hours, this warranty is void. Otherwise, we will replace the fish.

Our warranty applies to the original shipment only and not to replacement fish. Shipping and handling charges are not included in this warranty.

Disclaimer:

All fish will be guaranteed to be beautiful and healthy when we ship them out. Please make sure you have the proper space to grow your fish out. Due to the stress of shipping, when fish arrive, they may appear duller in color and may not eat for a few days, but with care and love, they will recover to their vibrant selves.

Unfortunately, we cannot hold accountability for small injuries or damages to fish that resulted from shipping (unless fish is dead). Once we ship our fish, they will be out of our hands. We provide the tracking information after shipment, so please be prepared to receive your package when it arrives.
